Founder

Kanthi Jayamaha, an accomplished restaurateur with over 40 years of experience in the culinary industry, is the driving force behind Sri Lanka’s esteemed Tasty Caterers restaurant chain.

Beginning her journey in 1983, Kanthi’s passion for food and commitment to excellence propelled her small catering business to new heights. With a reputation for delectable pastries, Tasty Caterers expanded from a home operation to a renowned establishment in 1985. Today, Kanthi’s empire encompasses multiple outlets across Colombo, offering exceptional cuisine and unforgettable dining experiences. Known for her attention to detail and dedication to consistency, Kanthi has captured the loyalty of generations of diners. She also prioritizes her employees’ well-being, fostering a positive work culture. Where it all began

Tasty Caterers’ inspiring journey began in 1980, ignited by founder Kanthi Jayamaha. Her passion for culinary started as a young girl, taking on catering orders for her father’s clients from a home kitchen on Skelton Road. With immense love and respect for food instilled in her upbringing.

Establishment of Tasty Caterers

As word soon spread of her delectable pastries, Kanthi eventually outgrew her small home operation and rented out a little kitchen in Fife Road, Colombo. It was here, in 1985, that Tasty Caterers was born.

Establishment of Cafe on the 5th

Cafe on the 5th brings a legacy of delightful culinary experiences. With a passion for exceptional food and a commitment to creating a warm, inviting ambiance for patrons, this second location was established.

Crossroads Café & Restaurant Established

Since its inception in 2008, Crossroads Café & Restaurant has been a culinary haven, weaving a legacy of delightful dining experiences. With a commitment to excellence, our establishment has become a cherished destination, where flavors converge, and guests embark on a journey of gastronomic delight in a welcoming atmosphere.

Establishment of Cafe97

Café 97, a charming addition to Colombo’s dining scene, provides the perfect backdrop for intimate gatherings with family and friends, including private high tea parties. The ambiance, reminiscent of a cozy cottage, sets the stage for memorable moments.

Café Tasty -Pitakotte Established

Since its establishment in 2019, Cafe Tasty in Pitakotte has been a culinary oasis, delighting patrons with a blend of flavors and a warm ambiance. Our commitment to quality and innovation has made us a beloved destination, inviting guests to savor a diverse menu crafted with passion and precision in a vibrant setting.
